Dear Ninja Moms,
Valentines Day was wonderful this year. I received a gift from my Younger Mutant Ninja Teenager: a beautiful tote bag screened with a designer purple Balenciaga on the cover! She bought it on line with her own money – it was a wonderful surprise! The only other store bought gift I received, I bought for myself: a pink iPad Cover with key board attached from Brookstone.
On Valentines Day, Love was everywhere: I woke to warm and loving family hugs and kisses; Ninja Girlfriends sent Love Emails; I received one beautiful hand written Valentine from my second family; I admired children and women wearing pink clothing adorned with hearts; and everyone I saw that day was inebriated with love and affection!
A few days later, a little Mutant Ninja Cupid arrived on American Airlines from Boston to shower me and the family with love. Suddenly I had all my Mutant Ninja Children at home once again. A very blessed and fortunate Ninja Mom!!!
At the end of the Valentines week, I took 3 Mutant Ninja Teens to a Massage Parlor in our neighborhood for a little spoiling. We have countless massage parlors (not like the scary ones when I was growing up) run and populated by folks from South East Asia: L.A. Bliss Spa, Pampered Foot, Oasis Thai Spa, Serenity Garden Spa, Foot Inspiration, Heaven Massage, to name a few. The massages were excellent and very inexpensive – a Valentines gift and a little bonding time at the same time! (Not sure this is the bonding the experts on raising teenagers refer to in their text, but what the hell, it worked for us!) After a great dinner that she did not cook nor pay for, Older MN Daughter said, “I am thinking of taking a semester off of College and moving home to be with you and the family’” (Oy, it may have been working too well!)
I received one last Valentines Day gift from a dear Mutant Ninja Girlfriend. I want to share it with you. If you have not already seen the short movie – Porcelain Unicorn, please take 3 minutes to watch this beautiful film! (CLICK ON BLUE WORDS BELOW -TO GET LINK!)
Love, Ninja Mom
Porcelain Unicorn – British film director Sir Ridley Scott launched a global film making contest for aspiring directors. It’s titled “Tell It Your Way.” There were over 600 entries. The film could be no longer than three minutes, contain only 6 lines of narrative & be a compelling story. The winner was “Porcelain Unicorn” from American director Keegan Wilcox. It’s a story of the lifetimes of two people who are totally opposite, yet, very much the same – all told in less than 3 minutes.
